Craving for chicken poppers but on a diet? How about you try cauliflower bites? This healthy meal is so crispy and doesn’t even taste like you’re eating a cauliflower. This is absolutely delicious without feeling guilty because its a vegetable! Best for replacement to your meat or chicken buffalo cravings.

You can also get creative with this recipe. You can add to the breading mix like paprika, parmesan, buffalo hot sauce, and among others depending on your preference.  And perfect for healthy snacking during the weekend watching movies with families or friends.

Ingredients
  • 1 whole cauliflower
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 cup Japanese breadcrumbs
  • salt and pepper for seasoning

Step by Step Instructions

Step 1

Wash cauliflower properly. Cut into large florets. I prefer not to blanch since I want it to be crispy. And no seasoning added to the cauliflower since fresh vegies taste good already.

Step 2

Prepare the breading. Season flour with 1 tsp salt and a dash of pepper.

Step 3

Coat the cauliflower with the seasoned flour.

Step 4

Beat the egg and season with 1/2 tsp salt. Dip the flour coated cauliflower florets into the beaten egg.

Step 5

Then lastly roll the florets in breadcrumbs until coated thoroughly. Repeat with the other florets then set aside.

Step 6

You can either store them in the fridge or deep fry them immediately.

Step 7

Deep fry the florets in medium heat until golden brown.

Step 8

Serve hot. And you can pair it with buffalo hot sauce and rice! Yum!
